Babak Sankani

Babak Sankani is an associate lawyer with Achkar Law. He represents employees and employers in all employment, labour, and human rights law matters from negotiation to litigation.
Babak’s passion for employment and labour law began in his undergraduate studies, which he carried with him through law school and his articling term with a well-renowned employment law firm located in downtown Toronto. He has assisted with negotiations, mediations, cases before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.
Babak first gathered experience in employment law through an internship during law school at the University of Ottawa. He further explored and excelled in studies of employment and labour law over the course of his law school experience, but also enjoyed studying constitutional law. Babak assisted with amendments of his student government’s constitution aimed towards increasing clarity and transparency and participated in the University of Ottawa’s Richard Weiler Mediation Moot.
Babak has an honours bachelors of arts degree majoring in Philosophy from York University, and a juris doctorate with a specialization in dispute resolution and professionalism from the University of Ottawa.
In his free time, Babak enjoys watching comedies and science fiction, experimenting with savory and hearty recipes in the kitchen, spending time with family and playing strategy games with friends.
